Turkish Folklore Dance

 Turkish folklore dance has many different types. It changes because of the region.

      Aegean Region

     In Aegean, they play "Zeybek" dance. Zeybek is playing solo but sometimes they play with group.

     

     Southeast Anatolia Region

     In Southeast Anatolia folklore dance is different than Aegean Region because it always plays with group. It called "Halay". All dancers hold each other's hands. It is so fun to dance. 

      Black Sea Region

      It is the playful folklore dance in Turkey. It name is "Horon". It is playing with group like Southeast Anatolia Region.It is fun to watch and dance. Horon is playful because of the Black Sea. This dance moves symbolise the waves of the Black Sea. 

         Thrace Region

          This region is our region. It name is "Hora". Hora is the most disciplined folklore in Turkey but it is not too hard to play. It is playing with group. All dancers hold each other's hands.
